Our history
Replica began as a collaboration between Franco Cosimo Panini Editore and Haltadefinizione.
Franco Cosimo Panini Editore was founded in Modena in 1989 when the family sold its company that produced sports cards and collectibles. Since then it has taken a place of leadership in the publishing of art books, facsimile editions of manuscript books, and replicas of paintings with a catalog of over 700 works and two prestigious series of publications:
The Impossible Library (La Biblioteca Impossibile), a collection of facsimile editions of Renaissance illuminated manuscript books;
Mirabilia Italiæ, dedicated to the principal national monuments in Italy.
In 2017, Franco Cosimo Panini Editore acquired Haltadefinizione, a high-tech company with experience in ultra-high resolution and 3D photography, which opened new horizons in the field of digital technology applied to the world of Fine Art.
The Company
Franco Cosimo Panini Editore is active on many fronts, such as editorial production, stationery, and museum services. These activities all reflect the company’s quest for innovation and new technology such as ultra-high resolution gigapixel and 3D photography, but also careful attention to the client’s needs and desires. Replica is the highest expression of these ideals.
